Hope was rescued from the streets when she was about one year old, and from that moment on, she changed my life. She was so much more than my dog. She was my sweetheart, my companion, my comfort, and one of the greatest loves of my life.
Hope was also my study buddy through nursing school. She stayed by my side through late nights, stress, exhaustion, and every step it took to become a nurse. I always considered her to be my honorary RN.
Hope lived a full and adventurous life. She traveled with me to Oklahoma, Missouri, Colorado, New Mexico, Arkansas, New Orleans, Utah, and Tennessee. She enjoyed attending festivals, people watching, hiking, camping trips, fishing, meeting new people, and receiving belly rubs from strangers. She had a way of making friends everywhere she went.
Even after her lymphoma diagnosis, Hope showed so much strength and courage. She continued to love, trust, and enjoy the little moments as much as she could. She was a fighter, but more than that, she was deeply loved every step of the way.
Hope was not “just a pet.” She was family. She was my baby. Saying goodbye to her has been one of the hardest things I have ever faced, but I will always be grateful for the life we shared.
Hope will always be remembered with love, gratitude, and tenderness. Her paw prints are forever on my heart. She was my sweet girl, my companion, my adventure buddy, and my forever love.
