My Sweet Boy, MoJo

In 2019, a little dog named MoJo came into our lives, and from that moment on, nothing was ever quite the same. What started as bringing home a pet quickly became gaining a family member, a best friend, a protector, a source of comfort, and the heart of our home.

MoJo had a way of making everyone feel loved. His tail wagged with excitement when we walked through the door, his eyes lit up when he saw his favorite people, and his presence alone could brighten even the hardest days. He wasn’t just our dog—he was our baby.

My children adored him. He grew alongside them, sharing in their laughter, adventures, and everyday moments. Whether they were playing, cuddling on the couch, or simply spending time together, MoJo was always there. He loved them with a loyalty and devotion that only a dog can give.

My mom loved him too. There was a special bond between them that words can hardly describe. MoJo brought her joy, comfort, and companionship, and she showered him with love in return. I like to imagine that now they are together again, reunited in a place where there is no pain, only peace.

MoJo lived a life full of love. He went everywhere with us. Family trips, errands, walks, car rides—he was always by our side. We never wanted him to miss out on the fun because he was part of everything we did. He was spoiled, cherished, and deeply loved every single day of his life. And he knew it.

On May 31, 2026, our hearts shattered when MoJo passed away unexpectedly. Nothing could have prepared us for that moment. The house suddenly felt quieter. His favorite spots became painful reminders of his absence. We still listen for his footsteps, look for him when we walk through the door, and wish we could hold him just one more time.

The grief we feel is a reflection of how much we loved him. MoJo left paw prints on our hearts that will never fade. He gave us years of unconditional love, loyalty, happiness, and comfort. Those gifts are priceless, and they will stay with us forever.

There are days when the sadness feels overwhelming. There are moments when I still expect to see his face looking up at me, waiting for a treat, a belly rub, or simply a little attention. I miss him more than words can express. My heart is broken, and a piece of it will always belong to him.

But even through the tears, I am grateful.

I am grateful for every walk, every cuddle, every happy tail wag, every silly moment, and every memory we made together. I am grateful that out of all the homes in the world, MoJo became part of ours. We were blessed to love him, and we were blessed to be loved by him.

Though his time with us feels far too short, his impact on our lives will last forever. He will always be remembered, always be missed, and always be loved.

Run free, sweet MoJo.

Thank you for being our baby, our companion, and the heart of our family.

Until we meet again.
